Fun, but there's a few problems; I realise how early in developement this is, but for the most part, these have little to do with that.
The angles you can aim the gun are annoyingly limited. I realise the human arm can't bend in a complete 360° motion, but those blindspots to your reticle would be possible if your character would just turn his body or turn completely around, rather than having to double jump just to hit some enemies directly behind you.
It reminds me of Castlevania, but in the sense of the over-emphasis on bats. It's kind of annoying how something that's (in reality) so fragile and weak is the "main" enemy of the game.
However, I'm looking forward to the complete release. I have the feeling it will be one of the hardest hitters on Newgrounds.

It was very fun, but the .22 LR bolt-action rifle needs to be toned down. I got that and had little need to get anything better, and could pick off pretty much every zombie before they could even get to the barricade.

Very fun, but I wish you could set a custom configuration. It's so confusing.

I remember this game. I remember it well. I also remember in seventh(?) grade, final period, we went to the computer lab and I got detention for playing this during class.
It's a chunk of Internet gold, and is one of my favorite games.

"Enemy graphics return from the grave!"
The game starts off phenomenally; the wide arsenal of unlockable weapons, the difficult tactical decisions you must make to compensate for some slow-reloading weapons (shotgun), it's all good fun. I got surprised once some of the new, mutated enemies started coming my way.
That all goes out the window soon. Once you get the Desert Eagle or GAU-8, the game quickly becomes one of the shoot-aimlessly-with-a-little-and-rar e-need-to-reload variety. Once you buy either the former or ladder weapon, don't expect to be damaged... ever again. Also, I was slightly disappointed with some of the later enemies. They were mostly red palette swaps of every enemy you've faced so far.

The game was very fun and provided me with hours of entertainment, but there really needs to be an option to adjust the Quality. The game ran very smoothly at first, but as the ants became increasingly tough (read: nigh-impossible to kill), you need to compensate with more cannons, and the more cannons you build, the slower it got. Once those cannons start building up (and firing laggy projectiles, such as the electricity one), the game ran at like a tenth of the speed.
The main issues are the the inability to adjust the quality, and the brutal difficulty curve at higher levels.
Overall, a very fun game.

This game was pretty fun. I always enjoy games that allow you to improve on basically every aspect of your arsenal and character as you please. I had a good chuckle at the best mêlée weapon.
As you can probably gather from my Resident Evil: Apocalypse quote in my summary, I thoroughly enjoyed racing around the city in the Zombie Buggy, greasing zombies along the way. It controlled remarkably well for such a background feature of the game, and could really take a corner realistically.
As Vinny99 said though, probably the longest part of the game was finding your way into that damn airport. The path to get there was very confusing and frustrating, especially the good ten minutes I spent trying to get past the (apparently indestructible) barbed wire fence in one of the paths there.
Also, Asbendog12 said, I'm on a terrible processor, and the game ran very slow for me at times when there's many enemies on-screen; although that's probably my fault for not buying a better one, so I won't hold that against you.

Ugh, this game was very fun, but there were a few issues.
%u2022 As mentioned a few times in the reviews, trees often obstruct your view. I don't know if it's intentional for the sake of a shift in gameplay or not, but it can be pretty annoying when yours and the enemy's troops are engaging in a mêlée behind (a) tree(s), and your "helping' only leads to the lobotomization of your own troops.
%u2022 Dragon-riders whoring meteor spells. It drives me nuts when a legion of troops is heading your way, and when you prepare a meteor spell to kill 'em dead, a (usually one-normal-arrow-hit-kill gray) dragon-rider takes the full force of it, leaving only the fallen bits to damage the troops below. I doubt a troop riding a dinky little dragon could hinder the force of a falling, flaming meteor.
Don't get me wrong though, the game is fantastic. The better a submission is, the more worthy it is of an honest review to further improve it. I've been playing Bowmaster Prelude occasionally for months now, and I can't wait until Bowmaster 2.

Easily one of the best Newgrounds submissions in months.

I enjoy this game. A lot. Although there are some small flaws here and there (a small array of weapons, for example), but I still love sending zombies back to where they came from. This game gets a 10 for Humor, because of the "Oh no you don't!" headshot dealt to zombies climbing their way out of the dirt.
